Who is The Most Rev. Randolph Sly?
The Most Rev. Randolph Sly is Archbishop of the Eastern Province
and the Diocese of the Potomac as well as serving as Supervising
Archbishop for the International Office of Communications of the
International Communion
of the Charismatic Episcopal Church. He is also rector of the
Church of the Transfiguration Pro-Cathedral in the Washington D.C.
metroplex. His responsibilities for the ICCEC include the International
Patriarch’s Council, the Primate’s Council for the United States
House of Bishops, Chairman for International Committee on Standard
Operating Procedures, one of the Supervising Bishops for CEC
for Life and the International Committee on Canons.
Archbishop Sly has been in the ministry for over thirty years,
serving churches in Michigan, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Virginia. He
is a popular speaker for churches and many Christian organizations
in the areas of leadership development, communications, liturgy,
worship, and spiritual renewal; and has served as a teacher for
the National Center for Fathering. In his "spare time"
he is also an Associate Editor for Pocket PC Magazine.
Archbishop Sly is a graduate of Spring Arbor College (B.A.),
Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div. with honors), and pursued doctoral
work in "Media and Technology" at Kansas State University.
He also received Doctor of Divinity degrees in 1995 and 1999. Prior
to his call to ministry, Archbishop Sly worked in multimedia, radio
and television broadcasting. Involved in the field of communications
and media since 1971, he has produced radio, TV, film, video, and
multi-image presentations for many national Christian and secular
organizations.
Sly is also a published author including many articles for such
magazines as: Decision Magazine, The Preachers Magazine, The
Wesleyan Advocate, Bridal Trends, Worship Today, Law and Order,
Pocket PC Magazine, and Ministries Today. He was a major
contributing editor and author for the multi-volume series The
Complete Library of Christian Worship by Robert Webber. As a
communications specialist, he also has over 50 multi-media and film
scripts and hundreds of radio/TV commercials to his credit.
Archbishop Sly has been named three times as one of the "Outstanding
Young Men of America," and has appeared in "Who’s Who
in Religion," and "Who’s Who in the Midwest." He
and his wife Sandy have three children and live in the suburbs of
Washington D.C.
